Where is the parade route?
The parade starts at Church Street and Walter Street, travels east on Church Street, then turns south on Canyon Street, ending at the Eddy County Courthouse.
How can I participate in the parade?
Registration is required. Contact Carlsbad MainStreet at 575-628-3768 or visit carlsbadmainstreet.com to sign up.
What activities are available for kids?
Kids can enjoy foam fun and gelly ball activities near the beach gazebo area throughout the day.
What time does the parade start?
The parade begins at 9:00 AM on July 4th. Line-up starts at 8:00 AM at Carlsbad Prep Academy.
Will the Water Park be open during the celebration?
Yes, the Water Park will be open during its regular hours from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Where can I find food and drinks during the celebration?
A variety of food trucks and vendors will be on site at the Lake Carlsbad Beach Parking Lot. Food trucks are independently operated and not free.
Is there parking available?
Yes, parking is available along the river near the event area and at designated lots around Lake Carlsbad Beach. We recommend arriving early to find a good spot.
Are shuttles or transportation options available?
Yes! Golf carts will shuttle guests from the Cascades parking area to the beach. Public transit will also be available.
Can we bring our own grills?
Yes, you may bring contained grills, but no open flames are allowed. Please do not drive vehicles on the grass, and no chuckwagons are permitted.
Can we bring our own fireworks?
No, personal fireworks are not allowed on the grass or beach areas.
Can we bring a bounce house or inflatable?
No bounce houses or inflatables are allowed at the event.
Can I reserve a spot in advance?
No. No one is allowed to reserve spots before the morning of the event when city staff arrives on site.
Can I bring pets to the event?
For safety reasons, pets are not recommended at the event, especially near fireworks and crowded areas.
What time does the fireworks show start?
Fireworks begin around 9:00 PM. Lights will be turned off at 8:45 PM to prepare for the show.
Is the event free?
Yes, all activities and events on the 4th of July are free and open to the public.
